Cash Flow

The Cash Flow section provides a comprehensive view of your income and expenses over time, allowing you to track your savings rate and understand where your money is going.

Yearly and Monthly Views

You can view your cash flow on a yearly or monthly basis. The views display the total income, expenses, and savings for the selected period.

Monthly Breakdown Widget

The Monthly Breakdown widget offers a multi-currency view of your cash flow for a specific month. It aggregates your income and expenses to give you an accurate picture of your financial health across different currencies.

Income Statement

The Income Statement provides a detailed breakdown of your revenue and expenses for a given period. It correctly accounts for liabilities and calculates starting and ending balances directly from the balance sheet (assets at market value + liabilities at book value), mirroring the Networth page for the current year. This ensures that the Income Statement accurately handles liability-funded transactions and foreign currency mark-to-market.

The Monthly Expenses page now shows a 30-Day Spending Trends grid below the expense calendar. For each expense category, the grid displays:

  • The current 30-day total (today − 30 days to today).
  • The previous 30-day total (today − 60 days to today − 30 days).
  • The variance amount and a colour-coded percentage change indicator: red for an increase (↑) and green for a decrease (↓).
  • A 6-month sparkline bar chart showing per-category monthly history. The current month's bar is highlighted in the category colour; a dashed red average line is overlaid.

Expenses:Tax transactions are excluded from all trend calculations.

Monthly Cashflow Widget

The dashboard includes a Monthly Cashflow widget that provides a multi-currency cashflow breakdown for the current month, showing total income versus total expenses using the original ledger quantities (without mark-to-market conversion). This gives a quick, currency- accurate view of your net cashflow for the month at a glance.
